F.U.E.L. Program
Did you know that each Friday, over twelve hundred children in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School District go home and do not receive a solid meal again until returning to school on Monday?
Madison Street UMC is doing our part to help combat hunger among our youth and children by participating in the F.U.E.L. program in Montgomery County. Through partnering with another church in the area, we are able to provide weekend food for 80 students at Norman Smith Elementary School, one of many schools in Clarksville that participates in this food subsidization program.
There are many ways to get involved with the F.U.E.L. program. One is to bring donations of food to the church each week. It takes nearly $300 to provide food for 80 children for just 1 week! By bringing non-perishable foods following the guidelines below, you will significantly help in this endeavor. Monetary gifts are also welcomed. Another way you can assist is by helping fill the bags each week or volunteering to deliver the bags to Norman Smith Elementary School each week.
