Something interesting happened at Annual Conference last week. During the breaks in between our sessions I would have folks come up to me and say something like this, “I hear great things are going on at Madison Street! Are you enjoying being there?” This didn’t just happen once, but over and over again. Some were folks that I knew and some were folks I had barely met, but they had heard exciting things about our church.
It gave me great pleasure to be able to say to them that Amy and I absolutely love being at Madison Street! And we do. It’s a privilege serving Christ here with you. And, yes, there are many exciting things going on in our church. But, here’s the deal—so much of that is because of you. Don’t forget that. Your excitement and enthusiasm is contagious. You’ve done such a great job of telling others and sharing your enthusiasm. Just keep it up, will you? Because it is truly making a difference.
We all know that you can’t fake excitement. People sense when we are genuine, and other folks want to be a part of a place that takes our faith seriously and are passionate about what we are doing. So keep allowing other folks to sense your passion and excitement. Keep talking about what is going on around here and then make sure and keep inviting others to come and see for themselves. We want them to be a part of it, too!
More exciting times are just around the corner. Next Sunday will be a very special service celebrating God and Country. We are already making our plans for Back to Madison Street Sunday and renewing our THRIVE! Wednesday Supper and Bible Study. So keep up these positive conversations, text messages, phone calls, emails and Facebook posts.
We are Living A Better Story at Madison Street—and it shows!
