Kindermusik Village is for lap babies, crawlers, and walkers. It incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement.
"Hickory, Dickory, Tickle, and Bounce" - Research shows the more you expose your baby to nursery rhymes and songs, the stronger those emerging lanugage-learning skills will be. That's why Mother Goose-like stories and rhymes are the main theme of this class. Plus, you'll develop research-proven communication strategies with your child through listening activities, speaking "parentense," and sign language.

YOu can bring home those same stress-free play and relaxation techniques from class, and incorporate them into your daily routines.

Our Time is a unique opportunity for parent and child to interact and learn together in an unhurried and joyful manner.
"Fiddle-dee-dee" - We'll meet many animal characters in our books, activities, and songs--each specifically chosen for a toddler's emerging interests and physical skills. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement, and literature to capture the preschooler's potential to learn and to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality. Designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic, and imaginative children ages 3-5, Imagine That! classes encourage socialization, sharing, and participating in group activities. Singing becomes a focus for enhancing the preschooler's vocal development as expressive language is just beginning to emerge. The parent and child will have fun participating together in the last 10-15 minutes of class during Sharing Time, where they'll also learn about Home Activities they can enjoy together throughout the week.
"Cities! Busy Places ~ Friendly Faces" - In this unit, sidewalks, elevators, skyscrapers, and world-traveling photographers are the theme. Learning through the pretend play that preschoolers adore, we'll be rhythmically busy playing storytelling games and handcrafting city "buildings" from wax paper at home so we can make a cityscape in class! Plus every activity has some at-home adaptations so the parent can take part in the learning. WIth a pair of resonator bars as a featured instrument, and a multicultural, jazzy collection of music, preschollers will develop the social and intellectual skills they'll need in school.

"Here, There and Everywhere" - the five sub-themes center around different family outings: a visit with a friend, an outing at the park, a trip to the city, an afternoon at the aquarium, and a day on the farm. Early Communication -- From the moment a parent meets that little one, there is a strong desire to understand. What is he thinking? Is she hungry, tired, too cold, content? Early on, every baby also has an innate desire to communicate. In a Kindermusik Sign & Sing class (developed by Signing Smart), we give the parents the tools and knowledge to communicate with their babies using American Sign Language. Through songs and play, both parents and babies learn signs for words like "mommy" and "eat," as well as practical signs like "more," "milk," and when he's "all done." This research-proven signing class for hearing children speeds language development, eases frustration, and enhances long-term learning abilities.
Session A - Playtime and everyday items around the house--such as a ball, bubbles, and family members--are learning themes in this introduction to American Sign Langugage for a child and caregiver. Parents will benefit from the session's four, research-proven strategies shown to speed language development in hearing children, developed by the child development and sign language experts, Signing Smart. With the DVD's visual dictionary showing parents and children making over 60 signs, plus a pocket-sized set of flashcards of the pictures and the words of the signs, parents easily incorporate sign language into their daily routines, favorite nursery rhymes, and stories.
Home Materials: Family Activity Guide, DVD Glossary, and clip-on flashcards
Session B - This follow-up session to the first introduces more signs using animals and toys as a learning theme, and delves into a deeper understanding of the Four Keys to Signing Smart introduced during Session A. With a special focus on helping children understand signs used in different contexts, the Home Materials includea children's DVD called "The Treasure Chest: Signs, Songs, and Rhymes," and features mini-music videos of children singing well-loved songs using the signs, as well as showing the printed words across the bottom of the screen--giving children multiple ways to learn the words, the sign, and the language.
