Choirs, Ensembles, and Dance

Students participating in performing choirs and ensembles will learn various musical concepts through the art of ensemble singing/playing.  Choirs and ensembles will perform throughout the year at Madison Street United Methodist Church worship services, concerts/recitals, senior centers, civic organizations and special events.  Participation in any choir or ensemble is offered at no charge to participants, regardless of family income.
 

Joyful Noise Children’s Choir
     For children ages 3 - 4
     Rehearsals:  Wednesdays ~ 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.

Joyful Echo Children’s Choir
     For children in Kindergarten - 1st Grade
     Rehearsals:  Wednesdays ~ 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Joyful Sound Children’s Choir
      For children in Grades 2-5
      Rehearsals:  Wednesdays ~ 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.

The Wesley Ringers Handbell Choir
     For children in grades 2-5
     Rehearsals:  Wednesdays ~ 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Children's Chimes
     For chidlren in Kindergarten - 1st Grade
     Rehearsals:  Wednesdays ~ 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
 
The Children’s Choir program utilizes a curriculum called VOICE for LIFE, which is designed to teach the basics of how to sing, music theory.  We also incorporate the use of Orff instruments and drums in choirs.

Clarksville Youth Chamber Choir (CYCC)
An audition-only ensemble for youth in grades 6-12 performing repertoire of various styles.
Rehearsals are from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
 
Dance for Joy
For youth in grades 6-12.  Dance for Joy is a liturgical dance ministry in which youth can participate in an  expression of prayer and worship through body movement.  Much of the choreography will incorporate elements of ballet and lyrical dance.
Rehearsals are from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
 
Flute Choir
For youth in grades 9-12.  Experienced flute players will enjoy playing repertoire scored specifically for this type of small ensemble. Weekly rehearsals will be scheduled prior to the beginning of the semester.

For saxophones players of all ages!
Rehearsals will be scheduled to accommodate participants.

The Madison Street Orchestra
For students of all ages and all instruments!
Rehearsals and performances will be scheduled to accommodate participants.
