The Rev. SungNam Kim was appointed as an associate pastor at Madison Street in June of 2011.  He was born in South Korea, and his desire for study in the area of theology led him to Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in Atlanta, GA. After earning his Masters of Divinity degree in 1991, he moved to Nashville in order to pursue advanced studies at Vanderbilt University. While majoring in Hebrew Bible, he was appointed to the Louisville Korean United Methodist Church and this opportunity guided him in deciding to minister in local churches.  He was ordained as deacon and elder in 1995 and 1999 respectively. In addition to the Louisville KUMC, he also served at Bethesda-Wesley Chapel UMC, St. John's UMC and Pegram UMC. He loves talking with people and enjoys practicing martial arts.
